Worst Experience in Buddhism Camp
About 5 years ago, I went to a camp with mother. The camp was run by an organization and they invited a Buddhism monk to teach 3 days in the camp.
I brought my iPad, a very old iPad, to the camp to take the note of the teaching. I have been a very good student in lecturing in any level of school. At that time, I had a positive attitude with Buddhism. I took a note since the first class that monk gave. I can type things in iPad very fast, but a little slower than when I take a note by handwriting.
That monk was very impolite. He raised a bad example which was me. He said that people using the technology did not pay attention to the one in front of them. Moreover, during that 3 days, I wanted to go home earlier because of that monk. I have a small argument with my mother, because of that stuff. That monk saw it. Then, again, he raised a bad example that only bad child had an argument with the parents.
Having an argument to people living together is very normal. Using iPad, laptop, or tablet to take a note is very normal, too. I really really do not like that monk’s behavior.
While the mentioned monk is the anti-technology, there are too many new monks using too much technology. Many Thai Buddhist monks, today, are social network addicts. There are only a few monk I know can use technology properly. These few monks use Audacity and Audition to record and cut their own teaching, put the files into CD and have their own Youtube channel. Some create the website for their own temple, and answer the question of the website visitors who ask them online about Buddhist principles.

When people think about Buddhism, they may think about China and Thailand. To learn something about Buddhism very deep, people come to Thailand to see what the original testament said. I went to learn with many monks in Thailand. I do not said that every monk is so good, but some.
I have studying in many (temporary) classes with many monks. Finally, there is only one monk left, that I learn Buddhism with him. I did not prefer listening to the monks who believe in the idea of sexism and selfishness.
The outsiders may view Buddhism as a very perfect religion. However, the teaching or the old principle must not be changed, especially in Thailand. We all know that if you are a Christian, you do not have to kill people with LGBT identity. Something should be able to change according to the morality and society in that era.

I cannot stand listening to men who discriminate women and LGBT. These monks believe that to do something nice to men will result in a better outcome that which to women. They believe that to become a gay or transgender in this life, he had had more than one wife in previous life.
And many fictions that these monks use to support the teaching (the fictions in the actual testament) are mostly sexism. Like, the man had the power over the wife, as he could give his wife to others, and his wife did not have any right or her own decision not to go with other guys. Although the wife is not a slave, but men could treat them like a slave. It is worth to note that the current monks praise this behavior as a very very right thing to do.
As I am female, I cannot stand if someone praises those who treat women as less-than-human. In my ID card, there is the word Buddhism on it. I feel like it is the symbol that force me to accept the idea of sexism. I want to ask a government office near my place to remove the word from my ID card. I know that it may have some effect to my workplace or future career. Thailand is unlike in the United States. If I fill in the form and write that I have no religion, others will think that I am weird and having a negative personality.
I found Saint Joseph “Continuous” Sunday Missal book in a public room of my apartment. If you do not like this stuff, you may say that there are a lot of rules to be a Christian, but in fact, there are a lot of good things you can get from your belief. Most of God-people communities live as warm-heart families. They are nice to their friends and their families. They do have hope, because they believe that God/Jesus stays with them all along their way. They do not have to be afraid of the death, because there is no death if they believe in Jesus.
Jesus Christ and Thomas, his bad disciple who did not believe in his resurrection. Thomas put his finger into the hole on Jesus’ hand.
Some people said that only weak people who believe in God, or until only weak people who love peace. Although you disagree what the gospel says, but you still have to accept that it makes your friends nice and happy. If you feel that your religion is better than Catholic or Christian, that is your right, too. Nowadays, many people in the world believe in God, and you cannot change them, or you should not change them. There is nothing wrong to follow the Bible or any books which teach people to do good things. You will love to see people believe in God better than killing each others.
Sw Eden is an artist, and loves that every religion has its artwork. All are civilization. Artwork is unlimited of all concepts, methods and distances. A good artist watches others’ work with respect and an intelligent criticism.

Saint Joseph “Continuous” Sunday Missal gives a wonderful description of 12 Promises of Jesus to Saint Margaret Mary by the drawings in the last part of the book. It is not just for Mary Margaret. It is for all people who believe in Jesus Christ.
First Promise:
I will give to my faithful all the graces necessary in their state of life. Second Promise:
I will establish peace in their homes. Third Promise:
I will comfort then in all their afflictions. Fourth Promise:
I will be their secure refuge in life, and above all in death. Fifth Promise:
I will bestow abundant blessings upon all their undertakings. Sixth Promise:
Sinners shall find in My Heart the source and the infinite ocean of mercy. Seventh Promise:
Tepid souls shall become fervent. Eighth Promise:
Fervent souls shall quickly mount to high perfection. Ninth Promise:
I will bless every place in which an image of My Heart shall be exposed and honored. Tenth Promise:
I will give to priests the gift of touching the most hardened hearts. Eleventh Promise:
Those who promote this devotion shall have their names written in My Heart, never to be effaced. Twelfth Promise:
To those who shall communicate on the First Friday, for nine consecutive months, I will grant the grace of final penitence.

The drawings are very touching to the heart.
Jesus, the Virgin Mary and Tusk, Ken Zi:Kill
You do not have to believe a romantic story between Jesus and Mary Margaret or St. John, but you also do not have to ban it. My country, Thailand did ban some part of Da Vinci Code the movie by a group of Christian actors. I really disagree with their protesting, because the movie is artwork, and all people should be able to watch all parts of it. I do not think that Da Vinci Code effects Christian in Thailand, because most Thai people are Buddhist.
If people are really Christian, they should not just kill other people who are not Christian. They should not be called the Christian then. For the belief, God did give all people the lives, and if some Christians kill other people who are not Christian, they will have sin. Many gays got killed by people who believed in God. And that should be a misunderstanding about the gospel. If to be gay is a sin, those Christian should not just kill gay, and create more sin in themselves. I am not an anti-gay, because many of them are nice people, and also talented to do work of both men and women.

When people talk about New urbanism, we usually think about the modern architecture on modern landscape and city planning with the geometry shape or beautiful curve which can be drawn in Rhino. That is true. Many towns of new urbanism were created in the United States and Europe. Some states like Missouri and Florida have more than 10 town of new urbanism. Most of the design concentrates into housing/real estate, park and pedestrian walk. And lately, they also have a green design, too, so the tree/grass can work out for the people relaxing, the sound shielding, the animal nesting and the world cooling.
I rolled the mouse around the Google Image Search, and I found that almost new urbanism towns look so closed together. A town which I am interested is different from other towns. The reconstruction of Thimphu (the capital) at Bhutan is combined with the regular roads and red-roof houses in Bhutan style. New urbanism towns are always closed to the beach, lake, until some designers dig their new lakes for their towns. Thimphu has Thimphu river at the east side of the town. Something I found different from my country is all the spaces along the river are public. (Thai houses always face to the river in order of transportation.) They are big tree and grass, and next from them is street. I guess they concern that the tree’s and the grass’ roots can prevent scouring of the river. Bhutan government really considers about natural environment conservation. The visitors have to pay tax for $200 per a day.
This town is not a grid layout, but it has a main road at the middle of the town. Thimphu sits on a plain land surrounding with many hills, so they could have a fine weather and a nice rain forest. We can notice that every single house has a red slope roof. This is because they have a heavy rain in raining season, and on the website says that the red color is about their religion, Buddhism Kagyupa. Thimphu also includes small stores, market and community place, as the Buddhist temple as Trashicho Dzong. Tashichho Dzong is the building with many layers of roof, which is also red. Instead of being red, because of the religion, The reason of the roof color might be from the material around the town.
Almost all fun sculptures in Takein Temple were made by “Tee”, a monk in the temple. Takein Temple is Hinayana Buddhist. It does not have many gods as in Chinese Mahayana. Anyway, we also have some, as Giants, serpents and important disciples of Buddha.
This letter was wrote for a boy (an old friend in classroom) who blame Buddism that it is a part of Satan.
The Bible said Satan tried to deceive people to worship the statues, because He did not want people to worship God. Some Christian or Catholic think that Buddhism is Satanic, because people worship the statues. In fact, the first statue of Buddha was made by the soldier of Alexander the Great, when he and his army went to India. They made wrong hair-cut, too. They made that hair-style from the Hindi priest. Buddha cut his hair off, when He made a determine to ordain.
Anyway, Buddhism is reasonable religion. The pure of it, is not statue or miracle. Nowadays, people try to use the religion for their business, so the image of it has got changed.
To be a Buddhist, you do not have to read those books of Tripitaka. Only, you are nice people; give other people without advantage; be conscious and calm and then you will solve the problem very well. Buddhists can believe in other religions, too, if those religions teach people to be nice. The goal of Buddhism is to go out from the circle of sorrow. If people still need to be rich, or need to get this – get those, and if they cannot get higher, they will be sad.
For this page, I will stop writing, because it will be too long. Just know, the pure circle Buddhism does not need statue. Not materialism and not personalize. (just – Do charity to anyone, no specific)
The Buddists always give the lotuses to the monks or to the temple. They do as tradition. In fact, they can give any kind of flower to the monk. Monks are from various kinds of people with various of status. There is no classes or levels after ordination. Every monk respects each other. Buddha said that the monks were from many different places, so people can give them any kind of flowers.
Why do people give lotus to the monk?
Buddha compared human as lotus in 4 position. First is the under-the-mud lotus. That is people who cannot understand anything, although the genius tries to teach them. Second is the under-the-water lotus. That is people who must take time to understand something. Third is the boom lotus. That is people who can understand anything so fast, and they really need the teacher or the knowledge from anywhere. Forth is the bloom lotus. That is people who are really bright. They can understand everything suddenly and exactly correct.
Surely, the lotus that people can pick up from the water is the third or the forth. They think that monk must be bright people, because they are calm. When people are calm, they will understand everything well.
This is the reason that Buddists give monk the lotus.
